Premier League bet of the weekend:

The international break is over!

It was an international break full of intrigue and excitement – with World Cup places on the line. Nevertheless we imagine the majority of you are excited about the return of the Premier League.

After three matches in the Premier League so far, it feels like the “Phony War” is over and we can now concentrate on the real thing.

This is exacerbated by the end of the summer transfer window and yesterday’s decision to end the 2018 window early.

Manchester City v Liverpool

The Premier League weekend is kicked off by the game of the next three days: Manchester City v Liverpool.

Both Manchester City and Liverpool can go top with a win.

The attacking line-ups on both sides are simply too brilliant to see this game go goalless.

Liverpool seem to be the favourites with both our community (see the Facebook Live below) and the pundits.

Awesome Manchester City v Liverpool offer

Leicester v Chelsea: Battle of the champions

Not for a while have we seen a Saturday 3pm fixture list with so many big games.

Leicester v Chelsea is undoubtedly the stand out match, featuring the two champions from the last three years.

But, Everton v Spurs and Arsenal v Bournemouth are dripping with narrative and could accentuate plenty of story lines for the coming week.

Will Wayne Rooney play for Everton? Can Harry Kane score his first Premier League goal of the season?

Will Arsene Wenger bounce back with a win? Are Bournemouth going to lose their opening 4 games?

How will Southampton v Watford pan out?

The other 3pms also feature some intriguing teams, which we simply don’t know enough about.

Southampton v Watford is simply fascinating and Marco Silva’s side might well have the edge.

Whilst Brighton really need to show something against West Brom, for us not to think they are the new Middlesbrough.

Manchester United attempt 4 in 4

Jose Mourinho takes his Manchester United side to Stoke to make it four wins out of four this Premier League season.

Stoke have beaten Arsenal at the Bet365 Stadium already this campaign.

Arguably Manchester United’s first test of the campaign, but if they pass with flying colours, that will likely be dismissed.

Super Sunday?

Due to European games in midweek, the “Super Sunday” offering is not as super as you might think.

Nevertheless, Frank De Boer’s travails as Crystal Palace manager should be an eye opener. Surely the Dutchman isn’t going to exit quicker than he did at Inter Milan?!

Whilst the arrival of Renato Sanches into the Premier League means all eyes will be on Swansea v Newcastle.

West Ham v Huddersfield

The Premier League Gameweek 4 ends with a Monday night game – the first at the London Stadium in 2017/2018.

West Ham have lost all three of their Premier League away games. Huddersfield have been impressive under David Wagner and are yet to let in a goal.

Will the “Dildo Brothers” be involved somehow? If West Ham lose we could see Sullivan & Gold giving Slaven Bilic the push…

    Liverpool v Manchester United (Saturday)

The biggest game of the weekend sees one of the fiercest rivalries in English football take place as Man Utd travel to Liverpool and we’ll be backing the visitors on Saturday lunchtime. Jose Mourinho’s side remain unbeaten in the league with six wins in seven - only Man City have scored more league goals than the Red Devils this campaign. Liverpool come into this fixture with just one win in seven in all competitions with their defence coming under fire, keeping just two clean sheets in 12 games this season. Man Utd are unbeaten in six league meetings against Liverpool, winning two of their last three at Anfield. Man Utd to kick off our 10/1 accumulator with three points.

    Crystal Palace v Chelsea (Saturday)

Crystal Palace already look doomed for relegation and face another tough task against champions Chelsea on Saturday. Palace have lost their last seven league games without scoring and have won just one of their last 12 league games. Chelsea have the best away record in the Premier League since the start of 2016/17, taking 51 points in 22 away games. The Blues remain unbeaten on the road this season with three league wins while securing an excellent result at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League before the international break. Chelsea have won on their last three league visits to Selhurst Park, we’re backing Chelsea to make it four wins and pile more pressure on Crystal Palace.

    Swansea v Huddersfield Town (Saturday)

Two sides struggling to score goals meet at the Liberty Stadium as Swansea City host Huddersfield Town. Premier League new boys Huddersfield made a solid start to the season with two wins in their opening two league games, but are now without a win in their last five, failing to score in four. Swansea have recorded just one league win this campaign and have failed to score in five of their seven league games, suggesting they’re finding life hard without Gylfi Sigurdsson & Fernando Llorente. Under 2.5 Goals has landed in five of Swansea and Huddersfield’s seven league games this campaign, considering both sides ineptitude in-front of goal, we fancy Under 2.5 Goals in South Wales.

    Southampton v Newcastle United (Sunday)

Backing Under 2.5 Goals at St Mary’s on Sunday looks the best bet as Southampton take on Newcastle United. The Saints have taken their poor goalscoring record from 2016/17 into this season, failing to score in four of their seven league games this campaign, resulting in Southampton scoring just seven goals in their last 13 league games. Newcastle have made a decent start to the season with three wins in their last five league games, but have struggled on their travels. Rafa Benitez’s side have failed to score in two of their three away games, in defeats at Huddersfield and Brighton. Under 2.5 Goals has featured in five of Southampton and Newcastle’s seven league games, we’re backing Under 2.5 Goals at St Mary’s.
